it always seems to start out this way you have to try it to see what all the fuss is about and after giving away half your life's story you are officially a member of facbook. you finally get a "social" life. you almost seem dumbfounded at first like OK whats the point of it all to see who has more friends. its rather boring at first. you may reconnect with a few old friends but after a couple weeks you start losing interest in it all so hmmmm, you decide to try a few games. something to pass the time by for an hour or so each night nothing wrong with that.
you decide on a game that is so simple that any third grader could master in 20 minutes and that fun for a night or two but it just got to be where its not enough. you need more to fulfill your "social" status. you jump in head first and go for the big boys. MMORTS. massive multiplayer online real time strategy. it all seems so innocent at first almost embarrassing to the fact you cant understand half of what its about but something grabs a hold of you and you have to keep going.
fortunately most people after the first week give up and go on with there "social" life. but not you. you want more from this experience. after two weeks and night after night of frustratingly wrapping your head around what you think is going on ...you need help. global chat. the pusher. the hustler of facebook. the place where at any given moment hundreds of thousands of people could be sitting there watching every word you say. you muster up the courage. you just going to say hi and after some ridicule and a lot of being called"newb" you find out that's a tough place to be. now what you are already into this game three weeks and have given up two hours a night trying to figure it all out but you are just going to quit when
its been months now. you have lost all sense of reality and the monster, the "social gamer" is now a full blown addict. you spend every waking minute playing. you plan your days around this game. wake up in the middle of the night to check just a little peek to make sure every things OK.
five no six, wait how long has it been? doesn't matter cause you are a god on this game now feared by all the little people. people strive to be like you. spending six to eighteen hours a day every day taking up every second of free time so you can be a god. your skills knows no boundaries even as you read this you find yourself wanting to go check and make sure everything still OK. even as i write this i find myself wanting...........to.................go
